In the past, in addition to working as a freelance photojournalist, Andy has worked as an Editorial Publicity Consultant and as Deputy Editor for one of the UK's largest leisure organisations. He has had 25 books published with one more currently being edited/designed/printed another in progress, along with hundreds of magazine features and several thousand images, with huge display photos being used at Earls Court and the National Exhibition Centre. The list of publications and organisations which have used Andy's writing and photography is almost as diverse as his subject matter and includes high-profile bodies like RAC Publishing and The Council For National Parks. It ranges from popular magazines like Country Walking and an article on midges to a post-tsunami report on Sri Lanka. For many years he was a regular contributor of travel features to Destination France magazine and his work has been profiled in the professional photographers' magazine PhotoPro. Events as diverse as The Tall Ships Race and Annecy Venetian Carnival have been covered for both magazines and newspapers. More recently Andy has contributed promotional articles and photographs for Jersey Tourism. Andy's atmospheric photographs of Her Majesty The Queen's 80th birthday visit to her Duchy of Lancaster Estate were used in Lancashire Life (UK Regional Magazine of the Year 2007). But travel is Andy's real passion, when he gets the chance. France in particular has provided much of his material, though he has also had work published on Sri Lanka, Norway, Sweden, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Spain, Italy and the Channel Islands. Andy now works exclusively in digital format using Canon EOS cameras. He advises GMC Publications on photography matters pertaining to Canon and now writes and illustrates all GMC's Expanded Guides to Canon cameras and related products. |
